[ITA] Solo, vero nome Gabriele Mangano, nasce a Tivoli (RM) nel 1981. Cresciuto a Roma, comincia a prendere confidenza con la musica sin da piccolo; grazie al padre inizia a suonare la batteria intorno ai 3 anni. Verso i 10 comincia ad interessarsi al mondo delle tastiere e qualche anno dopo impara a suonare basso e chitarra. Completamente autodidatta, inizia a scrivere canzoni durante gli anni delle scuole medie. Al liceo ha modo di conoscere altre persone con cui condividere la sua passione e inizia a militare in vari gruppi, con scarsi successi dovuti purtroppo alla poca voglia mostrata da chi gli stava intorno. Terminata la scuola superiore, tenta la strada solista; da qui il nome d'arte Solo. Passa dall'inglese all'italiano, e da un rock molto duro ad un meltin' pot tra rap e rock, genere meglio conosciuto con il nome di crossover. Nel 2005 cura la colonna sonora del film "MEDIUM S.P.A.", a giugno 2009 esce il singolo di SENZA NESSUNA CERTEZZA sotto etichetta Green Production (esperienza tutt'altro che da ricordare), title track che viene inserita anche in una compilation firmata BELIEVE DIGITAL. Da gennaio 2011 SOLO collabora con l'ALKEMIST FANATIX EUROPE, affermata realtà europea di booking & management. A dicembre 2011 SOLO registra il nuovo album previsto per il 2012 a Parma presso il prestigiosio RealSound Studio, breve parentesi con Uk Division Records per poi firmare a settembre 2012 con Overdub/Aural Music, etichetta che promuoverà il nuovo album. Per pura passione canta anche nei KILLERS, cover band degli Iron Maiden, impegnata soprattutto nell'ambiente romano e nei Crooked Step, Dream Theater cover band. Ha fondato e suona anche in una band punk/rock, i The Ceglie, con i quali ha pubblicato il singolo "Alice nel paese delle birre" nel 2011 sotto etichetta Noloser Records.

[ENG] Gabriele Mangano, aka SOLO, was born in Tivoli (RM) in 1981. When he's still a little child, he starts getting on well with music; thanks to his father he begins playing drums when he's three years old. Soon he begins to learn how to play keyboards, bass and guitar too. Totally self-taught, Solo starts to write some songs while attending middle school. During high school years he knows other people with his same interests and passions and plays in many bands but without results he tries to begin a solo career; for this reason the 'stage-name' SOLO comes to life. He turns from english language into italian one and from a rock very near by heavy metal into a meltin' pot between rap and rock, genre best known as crossover. In 2005 he writes the original soundtrack to the movie "MEDIUM S.P.A.", in 2009 his first single "SENZA NESSUNA CERTEZZA" is out produced by Green Production (experience to really forget) and its title track is chosen to appear in a compilation powered by Believe Digital. In 2011 SOLO signs for ALKEMIST FANATIX MANAGEMENT, famous european agency of booking and management. In December 2011 SOLO records his new album scheduled for 2012 in RealSound Studio in Parma. After a short collaboration with Uk Division Records SOLO signs for Overdub/Aural Music in september 2012, label that will promote his new album. Just for passion he sings in a band called KILLERS, covering Iron Maiden, sings also in a band called Crooked Step covering Dream Theater. He has also founded a punk/rock band called The Ceglie. "Alice nel paese delle birre" The Ceglie's single came out in 2011 thanks to Noloser Records.
